Challenge
A private university offered various types of scholarships, but few eligible students applied. Most were unaware of the available funding opportunities. Some students dropped out of school for financial reasons because they did not know about the support options available from the university.
The university decided to implement a centralized system of automatic notifications about scholarships tailored to each student's profile.
Action
- Automatic assessment of student eligibility
The iPresso system analysed student demographic data and sent them a survey to automatically identify those eligible for specific scholarships. - Personalized notifications about application deadlines
Students received notifications about what documents they needed to fill out to obtain a scholarship. Each message contained the specific amount of the scholarship, the requirements, and the deadline for submitting the application. - Sequential reminders with additional materials
The system sent several reminders—the first with general information, the second with step-by-step instructions, and the third with a checklist of required documents. - Automatic application status updates
After submitting their applications, students automatically received updates on the status of their applications, the expected date of the decision, and the next steps. The system also informed them of the possibility of appealing in the event of a negative decision.
Results
- Student retention increased by 15%.
- 27% more students applied for scholarships.
- Student satisfaction increased by 24%, as expressed in NPS surveys.
