Challenge
An e-learning platform offering professional and certification courses had many dissatisfied students. All participants received identical materials, regardless of their level of knowledge, learning style, or educational goals.
This led to frustration – advanced participants were bored with simple content, while beginners felt overwhelmed by materials that were too difficult. As a result, many participants dropped out of the course.
The platform decided to implement a system for personalizing educational materials using iPresso Marketing Automation to increase the effectiveness of the courses and improve participant satisfaction.
Action
- Analysis of participants' interests and segmentation
The system divided participants into groups based on their interests and the courses they had completed. - Preparation and delivery of educational materials
Everyone received materials tailored to their level – more difficult for advanced learners, simpler for beginners with additional tips. - Personalization of content and format
The iPresso system automatically adapted the materials to the participants' preferences. Those who preferred visual learning received more infographics and videos, while practical participants had access to additional exercises and case studies. - Automatic reminders
The system sent personalized reminders to continue learning, tailored to the participant's schedule. Automatic messages contained information about progress, achievements, and suggestions for the next steps in learning.
- Recommendations tailored to each participant
iPresso analyzed the participant's progress: it awarded points for each completed stage of the course. The system automatically recommended thematically tailored courses at a more advanced level for all those who completed the previous course with good and very good results. Upon entering the e-learning platform, recommendation boxes with personalized offers appeared.
Results
- The personalization of educational materials contributed to a 21% increase in retention.
- Course participant satisfaction increased by 18%, as confirmed in NPS surveys.
- Student engagement increased by 16%.
